| Deployment AND Desktop
AND Desktop deployment methods define the functionality available and offer you the choice to adapt it to your requirements.
Option 1: AND Desktop communicates with IP Phone
The AND Desktop client communicates directly with your IP Phone. In this case you specify the IP address of your IP Phone in the settings, like phone://10.1.1.1. This enables the AND Desktop client to send dialling requests directly to the IP Phone. All client features are available but you cannot have multiple phones at the same time. It is also not possible to integrate advanced features like reverse number lookup. This method is best suited for environments where you have no AND Phone Application Server and the Unified CallManager does not offer you WebDialer capabilities.
Option 2: AND Desktop communicates with Unified CallManager
In this case the AND Desktop client communicates directly with the WebDialer service of the Unified CallManager. The client needs the IP address of the Unified CallManager in the settings menu, like cm://10.1.1.2.It allows you to have multiple phones registered at once and you can use the client independent of changing IP phone addresses. This method is best used of you do not have an AND Phone Application Server but the Unified CallManager has the WebDialer service enabled.
Option 3: AND Desktop communicates with APAS (AND Phone Desktop)
In this deployment the AND Desktop client software communicates directly with the AND Phone Application Server (APAS), which allows you to have a centralized managed business solution. Advanced features like incoming phone call display on the desktop, reverse number lookup and centralized licensing are available. In this case you need to specify the IP address of the AND Phone Application Server in your client settings, like andphone://10.1.1.3. This method should be used for business deployments where you need centralized management and advanced features.
